CAMDEN – The Select Board is scheduled to meet at 6:30 tonight in closed session with Fred Berliner of United Trust Fund.

The board entered into a contract with the Miami-based United Trust Fund a year ago to sell the former Apollo tannery property on Washington Street. The town acquired the parcel for unpaid property taxes.

The fund’s second extension to the original six-month agreement expires at the end of the year, and Berliner said recently the expected purchase would not take place.

Berliner, in town this week, said he hoped to discuss some options with the board for extending the agreement. Berliner said the company has been unable to find an anchor tenant for its redevelopment plan for the dormant industrial property.

The board is not expected to take action after its closed-door session with Berliner.
