COLCHESTER, Vt. – The World Championship Team Trials and a stop on the North American Cup tour have been moved to the Maine Winter Sports Center’s 10th Mountain Lodge in Fort Kent from Lake Placid, N.Y., at the last minute due to weather conditions in upstate New York.
The Verizon Sports Complex Biathlon Center facility in Lake Placid was ready to host the trials but experienced warm weather, wind and rain. The 10th Mountain Lodge, meanwhile, had 21/2 feet of snow last week. The decision was made late last week.
The events will start Wednesday with the sprint competition, continue with the pursuit Thursday, and wrap up Friday with another sprint.
