BANGOR – Sen. Joseph Perry, D-Bangor, will discuss a refund program for low-income homeowners and renters, as well as emergency heating assistance, during a public meeting at 7 p.m. today at Husson College.
Representatives from the staffs of 2nd District U.S. Rep. Michael Michaud and Penquis CAP also will be on hand for the session, which will be held in the Richard E. Dyke Center for Family Business.
Perry and other speakers will discuss how to sign up for the state’s Property Tax Refund Program, formerly known as the circuit-breaker program, for lower-income property owners and renters, and for the federal Low-Income Heating and Energy Assistance Program, or LIHEAP, which provides emergency heating aid for the poor.
