A sprinter on the Hampden Academy indoor track team, Kapler won the 50 and the 200 dashes and led off a winning 880 relay team as the Broncos defeated Brewer, George Stevens of Blue Hill, John Bapst of Bangor and Sumner of East Sullivan in an Eastern Maine Indoor Track League meet..

Small School (Classes C-D)

JOE JARDINE

The Greenville junior guard averaged 22 points per game as the Lakers defeated Forest Hills of Jackman and Richmond to improve their record to 3-1. The transfer from Piscataquis of Guilford scored 27 points in a 76-56 win at Richmond that knocked the Bobcats from the unbeaten ranks.

The Camden Hills senior guard scored 19 points, including two free throws in the final minute, to help the Windjammers to a key 50-49 win over previously undefeated Rockland last Thursday.

Small School (Classes C-D)

COURTNEY COCHRAN

Cochran, a freshman forward for the Woodland basketball team, made a layup with 3.4 seconds left in the game for a 46-45 win over Washington Academy Tuesday. She went on to record 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Dragons, who are 5-0.
