4 County residents arrested for drug offenses, trafficking

HOULTON – Three people suspected of trafficking in scheduled drugs and a Houlton man who was one of eight people accused of drug offenses this past fall were arrested by the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency on Wednesday.

Nancy Hardy, 25, of Houlton; Holly Quint, 23, of Houlton; and Daniel Bouchard, 26, of New Limerick were arrested on the Class B offenses by MDEA agents, Houlton police and Aroostook County sheriff’s deputies.

The three are accused of selling prescription narcotics to MDEA operatives over the past few months.

Additional details of the investigation were not disclosed.

Later Wednesday, Kenneth Trecartin, 52, found himself back in handcuffs when he was arrested for violating bail conditions. Trecartin was one of eight area residents jailed on a charge of trafficking in Schedule W drugs by the MDEA in an October raid.

He posted $10,000 cash and had been out on bail before he was arrested again Wednesday.

Agents allege that Trecartin violated conditions by unlawfully possessing and using scheduled drugs.

All of the suspects were taken to the Aroostook County Jail, where bail for Hardy, Quint and Bouchard was set at $10,000 cash. No bail was set for Trecartin, as his offense requires that he appear before a judge to determine bail.

The four made initial appearances in Caribou District Court on Thursday, but the status of their bail could not be determined before the courthouse closed for the day.
