Watching a recent news-talk show, I heard an executive from a Wall Street firm say that privatization of Social Security would help our economy by “generating” brokerage fees of maybe $60 billion in the next 30 years.

He was a Bush campaign contributor, and I suspect that “generate” to him means payback.

Like President Bush said, it makes the pie higher.

I’ve paid $37,000 into Social Security, and am outraged by this thinly disguised grab for some of it.
