Dr. Noah Nesin, a member of Congregation Beth El, 183 French St., Bangor, was elected president of the Union for Reform Judaism Northeast Council at its recent biennial convention. A past president and longtime board member of Beth El, Nesin is also a member of the Union for Reform Judaism’s North American board of trustees. A family practitioner, he lives in Mattawamkeag with his wife, Tammy, and their four children. The Union for Reform Judaism Northeast Council consists of 85 congregations in Maine, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, upstate New York, Rhode Island and Vermont. As president of the council, Nesin will work closely with Rabbi David Wolfman, regional director, to provide guidance in synagogue management and resources to congregations in the region.
