Bangor police said they arrested a man and a woman for cocaine possession but are still looking for a third man after all three fled from police just after 11 p.m. Friday.
Officer Rob Angelo wrote in his report that he observed three people acting suspiciously near the State Street Big Apple. As the officer approached, each scattered on foot.
Jayson Shoopman, 27, and Tanya Cobb, 24, both of Bangor, were caught and arrested and charged with possession of cocaine. Cobb also was charged with possession of heroin.
Police searched the residences of Cobb and Shoopman, but Lt. Ron Gastia said Sunday night the case was still under investigation.
Shoopman was released on bail from Penobscot County Jail sometime over the weekend, but Cobb was still there as of late Sunday night.

A manager at Chili’s Restaurant on Stillwater Avenue in Bangor was issued a summons for assault Saturday night after a female employee called police to report the incident.
A woman working in the kitchen told a Bangor police officer that her boss, Charles Melino, grabbed her by the neck after she had criticized another worker who refused to lend a hand.
The woman left work at about 10 p.m. and called police, who arrived at the restaurant to speak with Melino.
The restaurant manager denied any wrongdoing and told police he couldn’t believe the worker made a big deal of the situation, the police report said.
However, another employee confirmed the woman’s accusation and Melino was summoned for assault.

A Bangor man was arrested shortly after midnight on New Year’s Eve after he led police on a chase from the Main Street Tavern into Hampden.
Michael Boutot, 45, and a female passenger left the Tavern hurriedly and sped off down Main Street, nearly striking a taxi, Bangor police Officer Dennis Townsend wrote in his report.
Townsend pursued in an unmarked cruiser as Boutot’s truck reached speeds of close to 80 mph.
Hampden police helped slow Boutot’s truck by setting up a spike strip that Boutot drove over, deflating the tires on his truck, the officer’s report stated.
Boutot rode on the tire rims briefly before coming to a stop, at which time he was arrested and charged with operating under the influence, eluding a police officer and driving to endanger.

A man attending a New Year’s Eve party on Larkin Street in Bangor called police after noticing a suspicious person inside a vehicle the man recognized as belonging to a friend.
While Bangor police Officer Eric Tourtelotte responded to the Larkin Street residence, Officer Brandon Vafiades detained a suspect matching the description of the suspected burglar.
Jack Fraser, 28, of Bangor admitted to Tourtelotte that he broke into “about 15 vehicles” Friday night mainly because he was bored, the officer’s report said.
Several dozen items were recovered from Fraser, who admitted to police that his actions were “stupid,” the report said.
The items included three prescription bottles containing methadone. The bottles were written to Fraser, but were improperly labeled as containing something other than methadone.
Fraser was taken to the Penobscot County Jail and charged with burglary to a motor vehicle. More charges could be pending, Tourtelotte’s report said.
