Deabay, Harding lead Hermon by Ellsworth

ELLSWORTH – Tyler Deabay scored six of his 13 points in the fourth quarter Saturday to help the Hermon Hawks claim a 35-30 boys basketball victory over Ellsworth.

Brian Harding led Hermon with a game-high 15 points.

Demetrios Katsiaficas netted 10 points for Ellsworth.

Alex Babbin and Chris Pendagast scored a goal each for 6-3 Brunswick. Chris Billett made 19 saves on 22 shots.

Hampden 2, Presque Isle 0

At Presque Isle, Kevin Brooks and Nick Beal each registered a goal and an assist as the Broncos gained a win.

Roy Woods saved all 11 shots he faced for 5-3 Hampden Academy.

Brandon Esquibel stopped 37 of 39 shots for the 5-2-1 Wildcats.

At Sawyer Arena, Bangor, freshman Connor Scofield scored two goals as the Crusaders beat Stearns of Millinocket.

Ryan Hayes also scored a goal, while John Cooper and T.J. Hopkins had two assists each. Nate Kuneman saved 18 of 19 shots for 2-4 John Bapst.

Jacob Emery scored unassisted for the 0-4-1 Minutemen. Jay Kim faced 36 shots, stopping 33.

At Millar Arena in Houlton, Zach Chase netted the game-winning goal on a Tyler Hutchinson assist as Houlton-Hodgdon edged Foxcroft Academy.

Sam Carter, Mitch Hall and Micah Carter scored the first three goals for the 4-1-2 Black Hawks. Aaron Fitzpatrick made 12 saves on 15 shots.

Adam Conway scored twice and Brad Bellemare netted a goal for 2-4 Foxcroft Academy. Dan Perkins and Jon Catell combined for 53 saves on 57 shots.

Vinalhaven sweeps Greenville

At Vinalhaven, Brianna Osgood poured in 28 points in two games as the Vikings picked up a 39-34 win Friday night and a 39-36 win Saturday morning.

In Friday’s game, Osgood scored 19 and Kim Smith chipped in with eight as Vinalhaven had a 14-7 scoring edge in the third quarter to pull away.

Beth Bartley and Rica Breton each scored nine points for Greenville.

In Saturday’s game, Smith hit two free throws in the final 1:30 and wound up with 10 points as the Vikings edged the Lakers.

Bartley racked up 20 points for the Lakers.
