CHARLESTON – A Charleston teenager lost control of the car she was driving Monday on a slushy road, rolling the car over. Only minor injuries were reported.

The 1999 Chevrolet Cavalier left the School Road, went into a ditch and hit an embankment, causing the car to roll over. The car came to rest on its tires, said Penobscot County Sheriff’s Deputy James Kennedy.

The driver, Shannon Long, 17, was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident and reported having shoulder pain, the deputy said.

The accident occurred shortly before 4 p.m. about three-quarters of a mile from the road’s intersection with Route 15.
