JUSTIN BOWEN
A member of the Brewer High wrestling team, Bowen earned his 100th career victory midway through his junior season on Saturday. A 235-pounder who competes in the 275-pound class, Bowen is 24-5 this season, 102-22 for his career with the Witches.
Small School (Classes C-D)
RYAN YEO
A senior guard for the Piscataquis Community High of Guilford boys basketball team, Yeo scored 24 points as the Pirates upended Valley of Bingham 54-45 on Tuesday, the Cavaliers’ first home loss since the 1996-97 season. Three nights earlier, he had 18 points and 10 rebounds as PCHS edged Mattanawcook of Lincoln. PCHS, which started the season 1-4, has won its last six games.
GIRLS
Big School (Classes A-B)
CAMMI HOWARD
A senior on the Bangor High swimming team, Howard helped the Rams edge Falmouth for the Westbrook Invitational title Saturday. She swam on a meet record-setting 200-yard medley relay team, won her heat of the 200 free, took third in her heat of the 100 butterfly, and swam on Bangor’s first-place 400 free relay.
Small School (Classes C-D)
AUDREY CHARETTE
Charette, a junior on the Southern Aroostook basketball team, scored 35 points and had 14 rebounds in a 66-38 win over previously undefeated Ashland. She also had 16 points and 12 rebounds in a 49-28 win over Katahdin last week. The Warriors of Dyer Brook are 9-1.
