Marble, Frost lead Huskies to victory

GORHAM – Ashley Marble scored 15 points and grabbed 15 rebounds to lead the University of Southern Maine to a 77-54 women’s basketball victory over Salem State on Thursday night.

Donna Cowing scored 19 points for the Huskies and Katie Frost added 18, Megan Myles had 11, and Katie Sibley contributed 10.

Gillian Almeida led Salem (Mass.) State with 12 points. Estrella Kuilan scored 10.

At Plymouth, N.H., Colleen Mahoney scored 23 points to lead Plymouth State University to the victory.

Meghan MacDonald added 15 points for Plymouth State while Lauren Devereaux had 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Kate LaHaye led the University of Maine-Farmington with 21 points and seven rebounds. Desiree Haines scored 16 points. Karen Sirois had 11 points and 11 rebounds, and Brandi Rideout also scored 11 points.

Travis Magnusson led the Beavers with 16 points and Steve Ginn added 11 points.
