Thompson, Wolverines tip Lee at buzzer

EAST MILLINOCKET – Freshman Lanny Thompson scored on a feed from Aaron Waite at the buzzer to give host Schenck a 55-53 victory over Lee Academy in a schoolboy basketball game Thursday night.

Lee Academy held a 53-51 lead with 47 seconds left, but two Kerry Thompson free throws with 31 seconds left tied the game.

Waite scored 14 points for Schenck, while Kerry Thompson added 13 points, Will Hamlin 11 and Chris Byron 10.

Tom Bird paced Lee with 14 points, while Neil Cowan, Peter Pickering and Jeremy Tripp had 10 points each.
