Bret Tyler of the University of Maine men’s hockey team has been named the Hockey East Rookie of the Week. The freshman defenseman from Maynard, Mass., scored two goals in the Black Bears’ 5-2 win Saturday at Massachusetts.
Jamel Davila
Junior guard, Jamel Davila of the UMaine Machias men’s basketball team was named Sunrise Conference Player of the Week. Davila scored 31 points on 13 of19 shooting, he also had five rebounds, five steals, and five assists.
Billy Russo
UMaine Fort Kent’s Billy Russo was named Basketball Rookie of the Week by the Sunrise Conference. The red shirt freshman averaged 22 points per game and 11.5 rebounds per game in two games.
