Toast of the town

Thousands of oenophiles will raise their glasses on Jan. 29 and 30 during the 14th annual Boston Wine Expo. The event at the Seaport World Trade Center will include a grand tasting of more than 1,800 wines from 13 different countries, seminars for all levels of wine enthusiasts, demonstrations by celebrity chefs Tyler Florence, Todd English and Ming Tsai, and a vintner dinner with Tyler Florence and Todd English. Tickets cost $60 for a single day, $82 for two days – if purchased after Jan. 21, prices go up $10 – and $180 for the vintner dinner. Dine in style – and help a culinary student learn the trade – at The Rangeley Cafe. The training restaurant for Eastern Maine Community College students opens for the season on Tuesday, Jan. 25. International menus change weekly and are served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Tuesday through Friday in Rangeley Hall on the EMCC campus.
