Big School (Classes A-B)

MATT CAREY

Carey, a senior forward for the Foxcroft Academy basketball team, averaged 25.3 points and 9.3 rebounds in three victories as the 11-1 Ponies extended their winning streak to eight games. Carey’s week was highlighted by a 28-point, 10-assist, seven-rebound effort in an 84-47 win against Mount Desert Island on Jan. 18.

Small School (Classes C-D)

ANDREW YORK

York, a junior forward for the Central Aroostook of Mars Hill boys basketball team, scored a career-high 40 points as the 10-1 Panthers defeated Madawaska 91-76 on Jan. 17. York made five 3-point goals, and shot 13 of 14 from the free-throw line.

GIRLS

Big School (Classes A-B)

HEATHER FOGG

Fogg, a senior guard on the Medomak Valley of Waldoboro basketball team, drained six 3-pointers on the way to 26 points in a 72-60 loss to Skowhegan on Jan. 14.

Small School (Classes C-D)

HILARY ARSENAULT

A junior guard for the Stearns of Millinocket basketball team, Arsenault scored all 11 of her points in the second half as the Minutemen rallied for a point-worthy 48-43 victory over Central of Corinth Tuesday. Central is now 8-3, including a win over Stearns earlier this year, while the Minutemen go to 9-3.
