Whitaker, Presque Isle top Houlton

HOULTON – Greg Whitaker led a balanced attack with 17 points as the Presque Isle boys basketball team topped Houlton 86-50 on Wednesday night to earn its seventh straight victory.

Matt McGlinn added 14 points for the Wildcats, while Chris Carlin – recently back from an elbow injury – scored 11 and Matt Fowler had 10.

Matt Cummings led Houlton with 11 points, while Winky Lloyd added 10.

At Fort Kent, Mitch Ouellet had 19 points, nine rebounds and two blocked shots as the Warriors rallied from an eight-point halftime deficit to earn their 10th straight win and second victory over Hermon in five days.

Tom Bard chipped in with 13 points for Fort Kent.

Mike Pellerin paced the Hawks with 12 points. Tyler Deabay notched 10 points and 12 rebounds and Chris Harding scored 10.

Zach Stubbs tossed in 15 points and grabbed eight boards for the hosts while Tim Hartin notched nine points and 12 rebounds.
