Aaron is a friendly young man with short, sandy blond hair and freckles. He enjoys swimming, riding his bike, horseback riding and playing board and video games.

Aaron, 11, enjoys school and participates in several extracurricular activities. He also likes to play basketball, softball and soccer. While he appears reserved initially, Aaron “warms up” after a bit of time and has a healthy sense of humor.

Aaron came into the care of the Maine Department of Health and Human Services in May 2002 along with his three siblings. He and his siblings Lydia, 9, and Ralph, 7, have been in the same placement together since coming into care. They would like to be adopted together and also to maintain contact with their older sister Brittany, 13.

Now in the fifth grade, Aaron has shown interest in science and social studies. He is working on math and reading skills in a resource room where he receives individual academic help.

Aaron gets very excited when he does things well, and his self-esteem continues to grow as he experiences success in different areas. He is a very engaging boy and makes friends easily.

Aaron, Ralph and Lydia would be most successful in a two-parent family. They will require an abundance of love from parents who are able to set clear and consistent limits. The children also would benefit from parents who take an active role in their academic lives. All three children would do well with older siblings.

An adoption subsidy may be available to the most appropriate family.

Aaron, Lydia and Ralph are three of the 218 Maine children in Maine DHHS care who are seeking an adoptive family. For more information about the siblings or other children available for adoption, please contact A Family for ME at (877) 505-0545 or visit www.afamily

Based in Gardiner, A Family for ME is a nonprofit program that works in collaboration with Maine DHHS to find foster and adoptive families for Maine children in care.
