Christian radio station WHCF-FM 88.5 says it raised pledges of more than $16,000 during a recent 4 1/2-hour “Hope for Sri Lanka” event. The money will go to Mission of Mercy, a global children’s ministry that runs orphanages, schools and holistic health centers. General Manager Wayne Frost says the WHCF fund-raiser was primarily to raise money for distribution of food and water to victims of the Dec. 26 tsunami.
