BOSTON – University of Maine football associate head coach and offensive coordinator Bobby Wilder has received the Assistant Coach of the Year Award by the Gridiron Club of Greater Boston.
Wilder completed his 15th season with the Black Bears in 2004. Under his tutelage, five Maine offensive players were named to the 2004 Atlantic 10 All-Conference Team.
The Black Bears finished the campaign, which included a victory over I-A Mississippi State, with 3,871 yards of total offense. The squad averaged nearly 30 points per game.
A 1987 graduate of Maine, Wilder captained the Black Bears to the Yankee Conference championship his senior year. An All-New England quarterback in 1985, he left Maine as the school’s all-time leading passer with 4,493 yards.
