Wildcats cruise to 11th win

PRESQUE ISLE – Greg Whitaker scored 13 points and Matt McGlinn added 11 to lead the Presque Isle Wildcats to a 61-25 schoolboy basketball victory over the Orono Red Riots Saturday.

Nyasha Millard scored 10 points for the Riots.

At Millar Center in Houlton, Mitch Hall had a goal and two assists to lead the Houlton-Hodgdon Black Hawks past Kents Hill.

Ian Pasquarelli had a goal and an assist for the 6-3-2 Hawks. Micah Carton and Tyler Hutchinson each scored a goal. Nic Joslyn saved all 34 shots for the shutout.

Anthony Barbato made 34 saves on 38 shots for 4-5 Kents Hill.

At Presque Isle, Tasha Deschene scored 18 points and Moriah Morris tossed in nine more and Presque Isle outscored Orono 24-3 in the first quarter en route to the win.

Katie Delong had seven points for PI.

Ashley Tilton had a game-high 19 points and six rebounds for the winners. Look had 15 points and five rebounds; Gavoni had nine points and Mary Mawhinney had six rebounds and four steals.

Hannah Gray’s 14 points, Brandi Winters’ 13 and Sadie Beardsworth’s 10 points led GSA.
