CALAIS – Chris Taylor tallied 14 of his 16 points in the second half as the Calais Blue Devils rallied for a 54-49 boys basketball victory over Houlton on Friday night.

Garrett Dickerson poured in 13 points for the Blue Devils, while Sam Bell and Bryan Blake each had eight.

Justin Stewart scored 15 for the Shiretowners, and Brett Miles had 10.

At Milo, Kole Stevens scored with 40 seconds remaining in overtime to snap a 38-all tie and Nathan Allen hit two free throws with 6.8 seconds remaining as the Patriots ended the Tigers’ 13-game winning streak.

Devin Perkins, who scored a game-high 16 points, hit a basket with 21/2 minutes left in OT to put Penquis up, but a free throw each by Dexter’s Sam Bowers and Chris Rabideau retied the contest.

Jordan Allen, whose two free throws with 1:30 remaining sent the game into OT, finished with 10 points for Penquis.

Rabideau led the Tigers with eight points.
