Reeds Brook cheerleaders

HAMPDEN – Reeds Brook Middle School has two cheering squads, an “A” team and a “B” team.

The “B” team competed Jan. 27 against Doughty, Cohen and Leonard middle schools. Reeds Brook came in first for the first time in five years. The team will compete again Feb. 11.

Members of the cheering squad are: Lisa Pearson, Tiffany Cyr, Christina Fortin, Blakelee Jordan, Alissa Jandreau, Rebecca Gott, Jenn Fortin, Katie Campbell, Jenn Dixon, Emily Sarnecki, Danielle Lumino, Hannah Boss, Michelle Polisky, Michelle Lavoie, Megan Maddox and Paige Barteaux.

The coach is Morghan Foster.

The “B” squad’s three-minute routine included creative dances, a floor cheer and four stunt combinations, among them a scorpion done by flyer Jenn Fortin. Spirit awards were given to Jenn Fortin and Blakelee Jordan.

Karate, golf lessons

BREWER – The Brewer Parks and Recreation Department will hold adult co-ed karate classes with Gary West from 7 to 8:15 p.m. Fridays, once a month, at the Brewer Auditorium.

The fee is $30 a month for Brewer residents, $35 for others. Family and senior discounts are available.

Indoor golf lessons for all abilities will be offered for four weeks at noon Thursdays, beginning Feb. 24, at Brewer Auditorium.

The fee is $25 for Brewer residents, $35 for others. Preregistration is required.

Basketball tournament

GLENBURN – The Glenburn Recreation Department will sponsor the annual basketball tournament for fifth- and sixth-graders, boys and girls divisions.

The double elimination tournaments will be held March 19-20. There are two spots left in each division. For information on registration, contact the Glenburn recreation director at 945-3119.

Little League signup

GLENBURN – Glenburn Little League will hold registration 6:30-8:30 p.m. March 8 and 10 at Glenburn Elementary School, and March 7 and 9 at Levant Elementary School.

The league is for children 5-16 who reside in Glenburn, Levant, Hudson and Kenduskeag. Official birth certificates are mandatory.
