MILO – Senior guard Trisha MacDonald eclipsed the 1,000-point mark with her 15 points, including nine in the third quarter, as Stearns of Millinocket pulled away from host Penquis 64-40 in a schoolgirl basketball game Thursday night.

MacDonald now has 1,004 career points.

Hilary Arsenault had 15 points for Stearns and Johnna Michaud added 12. Each had six third-quarter points.

Kate Hamlin’s 15 points and Mindy Dolley’s 11 paced the Patriots.

At Sawyer Arena in Bangor, Nick Payson scored four goals to help the Rams to the win.

Ben Estabrook had a goal and an assist for 10-3 Bangor. Dylan George, Mike McPike, and Jack Keenan each scored a goal. T.J. Vanidestine had two assists as Jamie Hardy stopped all 10 shots.

Jared Johnson made 41 saves on 49 shots for 0-10 Skowhegan.

At Old Town, Logan Bouchard notched 10 of his 21 points in the fourth quarter as the Indians outlasted Brewer in Big East Conference play.

Travis Shaw also scored 21 points and grabbed 14 rebounds for Old Town.
