MACHIAS – Skylar Richardson’s basket with 50 seconds left put Shead of Eastport up and Lauretta Ricker finished off Machias by making five of six free throws to help Shead win 47-42 in girls basketball action Monday.

Richardson and Ricker both finished with 13 points.

Christiannah Holmes led Machias with 21 points and 12 rebounds.

McGuire scored off assists from Klinton Pinckham and Travis Emmons. Spencer Lahaie made 39 saves on 40 shots for the 8-7-1 Tigers.

Hampden’s Kevin Brooks gave the 10-4-1 Broncos an early lead when he scored with one second left in the first period. Nick Beal assisted on the goal and Rory Woods stopped 24 of 25 shots.
