Sloat helps Hodgdon hang on

HODGDON – Collette Sloat scored 10 points and grabbed 15 rebounds to power the Hodgdon Hawks past the Limestone Eagles 48-39 in schoolgirl basketball action Monday.

Kayla Fleming had 10 points and 10 rebounds for Hodgdon and Andrea Blanchette added 10 points.

Anna Haller paced Limestone/Maine School of Science and Math with 15 points, while Lindsey Beaulieu added 11.

At T.J. Ryan Center in Brewer, Gardiner’s Travis McGuire scored with 2:15 left in regulation to tie the game for good.

McGuire scored off assists from Klinton Pinckham and Travis Emmons. Spencer Lahaie made 39 saves on 40 shots for the 8-7-1 Tigers.

Hampden’s Kevin Brooks gave the 10-4-1 Broncos an early lead when he scored with one second left in the first period. Nick Beal assisted on the goal and Rory Woods stopped 24 of 25 shots.
