MILLINOCKET – Dexter’s unbeaten Tigers withstood a 22-13 Stearns scoring run to post their 16th win of the girls basketball season: 41-36 Monday night.

Mallory Ames scored 13 points for undefeated Dexter, while sister Ashley Ames added 12.

Trisha MacDonald and Johnna Michaud scored 11 points apiece for Stearns, which went 12-for-15 from the free-throw line.

McGuire scored off assists from Klinton Pinckham and Travis Emmons. Spencer Lahaie made 39 saves on 40 shots for the 8-7-1 Tigers.

Hampden’s Kevin Brooks gave the 10-4-1 Broncos an early lead when he scored with one second left in the first period. Nick Beal assisted on the goal and Rory Woods stopped 24 of 25 shots.
