Longtime Bangor radio personality Cindy Michaels has changed addresses on the dial, as of this past Monday.
After seven years at WWBX (97.1 FM), Michaels is shifting to its Clear Channel sister station, WKSQ (94.5 FM). Beyond that, everything stays the same for Michaels, who will remain as program director and midday (10 a.m.-2 p.m.) host.
She even keeps her “Lunch Lady” tag, hosting the new “KISS Caf?” at noon.
One thing that will change will be the style of music she is playing, as B97 uses a Top 40 format whereas Kiss is adult contemporary.
Michaels said she decided to make the switch after the stations’ operations director and general manager approached her.
“I was ready for a change, a new challenge,” she said. “It’s a different format that I’m not used to, although I did grow up with these songs. It will be a challenge to bring the ratings up and concentrate on at-work listeners.”
