Ritchie propels perfect Pandas

EAST MILLINOCKET – Aarika Ritchie scored 12 of her 14 points in the first quarter Friday night to propel Lee Academy to a 71-39 schoolgirl basketball victory over Schenck and an undefeated regular season.

Amanda Gifford led the Pandas with 15 points, Shelby Pickering also had 14, and Karin Bird added 10.

Ashley Peabody topped the Wolverines with 16 points, and Robin Larlee posted nine.

At Rockport, Stephanie Bossie scored 18 points – including a 10-for-10 effort from the free-throw line – to lead the Black Raiders to the victory.

Bossie made six free throws in the fourth quarter, when Winslow made 13 of 18 from the line to rally from a seven-point deficit.

Kayla Gushee paced Camden Hills with 12 points, while Kristin Richards scored 10. Marianne Croce added eight points, eight rebounds, and four assists, while Samantha Wiley had eight points and seven rebounds.

Haller finished with 17 points, Peers contributed 14, and Lindsey Beaulieu added a dozen for Limestone/Maine School for Science and Mathematics.

Ashley Nemer scored 14 points, Mindy Chasse 12, and Whitney Flint nine for the Hornets, who had a game-tying shot at the end spin out.
