BOSTON – The University of Maine men’s and women’s track and field teams were in action over the weekend at the Valentines Invitational, which was hosted by Boston University.

In the women’s meet, Stephanie McCusker finished eighth in the triple jump with a leap of 11.39 meters, and was 21st in the long jump (5.02) meters. Katie Souviney was 10th in the 55 hurdles prelims (8.38 seconds), Erin Hatch earned 11th overall in the high jump, clearing 1.63 meters. Hana Pelletier notched 16th in the 800 (2:16.24). Clarissa Michalak was 13th in the weight throw with a heave of 13.35 meters.

The men were led by weight thrower Anthony Morgan, who was sixth with a throw of 16.11 meters. Scott O’Connor finished 16th in the 800 in 1:54.39. Jeff Caron and Mike Lansing went 12-16 in the 3,000 with times of 8:27.68 and 8:29.54, respectively. High jumper Chris Warren finished 15th, clearing 1.88 meters. Jesse Ludwig was 19th in the long jump, going 6.30 meters. The Bears will head back to Boston next weekend for the America East Championships.
