BRUNSWICK – Kyle Petrie’s 3-pointer ignited a key 7-0 second-half scoring run Tuesday night as Bowdoin College held off Husson College of Bangor for a 75-73 men’s basketball victory, halting the Eagles’ winning streak at 15 games.
Petrie posted a double-double for Bowdoin of the New England Small College Athletic Conference with 24 points and 16 rebounds. Andrew Hippert racked up 20 points.
The Polar Bears play at Amherst in a Saturday NESCAC quarterfinal game.
Tyler Muzzy led four players in double figures with 25 points for Husson of the North Atlantic Conference. He also had 10 rebounds.
Andy Frost tossed in 15 points, Jason Harvey added 13 and Buddy Leavitt posted 10.
The Eagles begin their league playoffs next Tuesday night.
