ORONO – The University of Maine Cooperative Extension will host a conference on the outlook for agriculture in Maine from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, March 10, at Wells Commons at the University of Maine.
Speakers will address the needs of Maine farmers and the strategies being developed by public and private organizations to meet those needs. Representatives of governmental and nonprofit groups will discuss the history and future of Maine farming, the role of agriculture in rural economic development and efforts made by the University of Maine to help farmers thrive.
The $10 registration fee includes lunch.
