HOULTON – Ryan Yeo hit seven of his eight free-throw attempts in the fourth quarter en route to 21 points as the No. 9 Piscataquis boys basketball team knocked off No. 8 Houlton 50-40 Wednesday in an Eastern Maine Class C preliminary game.

The Pirates of Guilford, who will face No. 1 Dexter Wednesday in an 11:05 a.m. quarterfinal at the Bangor Auditorium, were 11-of-16 from the line overall in the fourth quarter. Mike Wharff added 11 for Piscataquis.

Brett Miles paced the defending state champion Shiretowners with 12 points.
