City Council members changed the zoning at the end of Burr Street from industrial to high density residential during a special council meeting on Friday. The change allows Charles Milan IV, a developer and Brewer resident, to create additional housing in the area. “We don’t know exactly what will be built,” Milan told the board. Milan, who has done other rehabilitation work on the street, said he didn’t want to move forward with his plans to develop additional housing for the area until he heard whether the zoning change would be allowed. City councilors unanimously endorsed the amendment, and no members of the public spoke out against the change. (Nok-Noi Hauger, BDN)
