Black Hawks post victory over Crusaders

BANGOR – Chris Howland and Ben Henderson each netted two goals as Houlton-Hodgdon defeated John Bapst 5-2 in high school hockey play Monday night.

Ryan Brewer scored the 11-5-2 Black Hawks’ other goal. Sharif Abouleish, Chris McGuire, and Josh McGuire helped with assists. Nic Joslyn stopped 28 of the 30 shots he faced.

Josh Hunnefeld and Zac Grennier each had a goal for 5-13 John Bapst. Julianna Alex, Brian Leighton, and Alex Yates posted assists. Nate Kuneman faced 25 shots, saving 20.

Boothbay 67, Winthrop 60

At the Augusta Civic Center, Owen Johnson netted 33 points to lead third ranked Seahawks past sixth ranked Winthrop.

Chris Noonan added 14 points for the winners. Patrick Norton and Roy Arsenault each had seven.

Sam Leclerc tallied 21 for Ramblers. Tom Burnham scored 14 and Mike Gingras had 22.

Ben Stoodley scored 15 points for Wiscasset. Jason Dighton had 11 points and Curtis DeCosta added 10 points.

Ryan Pinkham led Madison with 19 points. Tom Steuber scored 13 points and Judah Norris had 10 points.
