The world’s largest movie theater company has announced plans to build the state’s largest megaplex at the Maine Mall. The plan by Regal Entertainment Group for a 16-screen movie house includes a multilevel parking deck that would be built by the mall to accommodate thousands of moviegoers and shoppers. Dick Westerling, Regal’s senior vice president of marketing and advertising, said the proposed megaplex, containing approximately 3,400 seats, would fit well at the state’s largest shopping venue. “This type of facility will not only be a local draw, but a regional draw,” he said.
