NEW YORK – Site59, an online industry leader in last-minute travel, announced Thursday that Bangor was one of 20 new North American departure cities from which travelers can leave and find bargain last-minute weekend getaways. This brings Site59 and its owner, Travelocity, to a total of 151 such departure cities.

Site59 general manager Robert Albert said shorter trips booked within a week are a growing trend and that his company can arrange bargain packages to hundreds of destinations in the United States and throughout the world. Among the other new cities added to Site59.com were Santa Barbara, Calif., Springfield, Mo., Roanoke, Va., Halifax, N.S., Key West, Fla., and Corpus Christi, Texas.
