Pittsfield man charged with drug trafficking

PITTSFIELD – A lengthy investigation into claims that a local man was providing teenage girls with illegal prescription drugs, then having sex with them, wrapped up this week with an arrest.

Ricky Wilcox, 41, of Davis Street was charged with aggravated trafficking in drugs after a search of his home revealed marijuana and drug paraphernalia, according to Pittsfield police Officer Jason Emery.

Wilcox has not been charged with any sexual violations, Emery said, but he added that the case remains under investigation.

Emery said the drug charges were upgraded to aggravated status because the drugs were found within 1,000 feet of a school, St. Agnes Catholic School.

Davis was taken to Somerset County Jail in Skowhegan, where he was released on bail and is scheduled to appear in Skowhegan District Court on April 27.

Wilcox has a previous conviction for drug trafficking and served a prison sentence at a federal facility in Pennsylvania, said Emery.
