Ames Corp. merges with N.H. firm

PORTSMOUTH, N.H. – The Ames Corp. of Bangor has announced a merger with Millette, Sprague and Colwell of Portsmouth, to form AMES MSC, a third division of Ames.

MSC Inc. is a civil engineering and land-surveying firm serving the Greater seacoast region of New Hampshire. It joins AMES A/E, architects and engineers, and AMES AM, which does asset management, as subsidiaries of the parent Ames Corp., now in its 31st year.

AMES MSC’s full line of services will include architecture, mechanical, electrical and structural engineering, civil engineering, land planning and landscape architecture, traffic and roadway engineering, construction administration and asset and facilities management.

Since 1974, AMES A/E has grown to a staff of 34 professionals. It has experience in new construction, renovation projects, system upgrades, and adaptive reuse of existing facilities in an effort to work with communities and businesses to increase the use and value of existing assets.
