DELAND, Fla. – Brittany Cheney knocked an RBI single while Lauren Dulkis hit two singles to lead the University of Maine softball team to a 5-4, eight-inning victory over St. Bonaventure on Sunday.

On Saturday, the Black Bears beat St. Bonaventure 8-1 for their first win before dropping a 5-2 decision to Stetson.

In Sunday’s game, Dana Grimm had a sacrifice RBI and Molly McKinney notched a fielder’s choice RBI for 2-7 Maine.

In Saturday’s opener, Sarah Bennis went the distance, striking out six, to lead the Bears.

Kristie Hawkins singled twice with an RBI and Brittany Cheney had a run-scoring single for UMaine.

In Saturday’s second game, Nicole Forbes’ RBI double in the seventh inning broke a 2-2 tie for Stetson.

Amy Kuhl singled with two RBIs for the Bears behind loser Alexis Pullen.
