Saint Joseph’s splits Tuesday’s twinbill

FORT MYERS, Fla. – Allyson Ferguson had a double with three RBIs and scored three times to lead Saint Joseph’s College to a 21-3 win over Northland in the first game, but Anna Maria College won game two against the Monks 9-1 in Tuesday’s softball action.

In the first game, Leanne Morton singled and had a RBI with three runs scored for the Monks.

Katie Zaban doubled and singled for Northland.

In the second game, K.D. Mungovan hit two singles to drive in a run for Anna Maria and May Makynen singled and doubled. Jen DeCambra had a double and two RBIs.

Ferguson hit a single and drove in a run for the Monks and Jaime Daugherty also singled and scored a run.

At Bradenton, Fla., Jim Geldhof hit a home run and three singles to drive in two runs and lead Central Michigan University to the win.

Jeremy Crum had three singles and scored three runs for Central Michigan and Kurtis Wells added a double and two singles with two RBIs.

Ryan Quintal hit a two-run home run in the fourth inning for the Black Bears and Curt Smith doubled and singled. Mike Ferriggi singled twice and Joel Barrett slapped a double.

Wagner 14, Husson 10

At St. Petersburg, Fla., Scott Young’s two-run single and B.J. Hogan’s RBI single keyed a four-run ninth inning that gave Division I Wagner College (N.Y.) its victory over Husson, which committed nine errors.

Husson had tied the game with four runs in the bottom of the eighth on Shawn Henderson’s RBI single, Sean Brawn’s sacrifice fly and Pat Ouellette’s two-run single.

Jamie Schild, Brian Campbell and Scott Young had three singles apiece for Wagner. Schild and Young had two RBIs apiece.

Brawn had four singles and a sacrifice fly for Husson and Henderson, filling in for the injured Jason Harvey (pulled rib cage muscle), drove in three runs with a triple and two singles. Kyle Mathieu doubled and singled and knocked in a pair while Justin Spencer and Danny White contributed two singles apiece.
