AUGUSTA – The deadline for submitting applications to participate in Maine History Day is March 14, Secretary of State Matthew Dunlap reminds students in a press release.

Maine History Day is an annual academic competition open to students in grades six through 12. Participants explore a broad historical theme by preparing papers, projects or presentations. Those submissions are then judged by a panel of experts.

Maine’s statewide competition will be held April 7 in Augusta, with a panel of experts picking the finalists, who will receive awards and move on to the national finals in June.

Application materials and complete program details are available to students and educators online at www.maine.gov/sos or by calling 287-5791.
