The state’s Tough Choices health care conference, scheduled to take place Saturday in Bangor, Augusta and South Portland simultaneously, has been postponed until Sunday because of the anticipated snowstorm.
Because the South Portland site – the gymnasium at Southern Maine Community College – is unavailable on Sunday, those delegates are asked and encouraged to participate at either the Augusta Civic Center or Jeff’s Catering in Brewer. The event begins at 9 a.m. and will continue until 4 p.m. Registration starts at 8 a.m.
Tough Choices will bring together a diverse cross-section of pre-selected residents from around the state to discuss the future of health care in Maine. The electronically linked meetings will be moderated by local facilitators as well as by staff from America Speaks, the national nonprofit group that has orchestrated such high-tech discussions as the debate over replacing the twin towers of the World Trade Center after the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.
Should the snow threaten to continue into Sunday, delegates may call toll-free (888) 850-2266 for recorded information.
