VAN BUREN – Van Buren police are investigating the burglary of a local pharmacy where drugs were taken.

It was the second time in three years that criminals broke into Hebert’s Pharmacy through the front door. The alarm in the building was not set, and the burglary wasn’t noticed until Monday morning.

Police Chief Michael Bressett said Monday that police believe the building was burglarized sometime Sunday night or early Monday. He was not sure of the kinds of drugs taken and the amount missing.

There was minimal damage to the door and no damage inside the Main Street building. The police chief said the last employee working had not set the alarm.

Police had no suspects Monday. Bressett said the investigation was still in its preliminary stages.
