COLUMBIA FALLS – In an unusually quiet annual town meeting, the residents of Columbia Falls gathered Tuesday to appropriate $20,000 toward the future construction of a sand and salt building.
They also voted to raise $17,000 for maintenance of town buildings and grounds, and another $10,000 toward roads and bridges.
“It was a very quiet meeting,” said Muriel Smith, the town clerk and registrar of voters. “Nothing unusual took place.”
All of those running for office won their seats unchallenged. They include three who are incumbents: Vance Pinko, a selectman; Alan Grant, a tax assessor; and Robert Foss, a school board member.
