MADAWASKA – The Madawaska Police Department was still looking Friday for the person responsible for a bomb threat at the Madawaska Middle-High School.
Police Chief Ronald Pelletier said Friday that no charges had been made against anyone for the Tuesday afternoon incident. Police, rescue and school personnel searched the school and found nothing.
The school was evacuated when a note was found on a boys bathroom wall indicating that there was a bomb in the school.
Students were transported to the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church at about 1:20 p.m. and returned to the school at 2:30 p.m. An assembly of all students was held after they returned to school to explain the situation.
“It seems that every year we get hit with one of these situations,” Pelletier said Friday. “The investigation is ongoing.”
