HAMPDEN – Edna Bragg of Hampden will mark her 100th birthday April 1. An open house celebration in her honor will be held noon-3 p.m. Saturday, April 2, at the Hampden Snowmobile Club, Western Avenue. Family members who are organizing the party request that no gifts or monetary tributes be given. Those who wish may send cards to Edna Bragg, 113 Western Ave., Apt. 37, Hampden, ME 04444.

As Hampden’s oldest resident, Mrs. Bragg holds the Boston Post Cane. She attends local senior citizens activities, public suppers and the Coldbrook Road Christmas Club. She does her own shopping and cooks her own meals. She was married for 62 years to George W. Bragg, who died in 1991.
