ALTON – Residents will hold their annual town meeting at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 26, at the Municipal Building.

Voters will be asked to appropriate $22,353 from property taxes for payment on a firetruck; a sum of $20,000 from surplus, plus $25,000 from excise taxes, for the refuse account; and $9,350 from surplus for the municipal parking lot pavement.

The school budget will be voted on in June.

For elections, one person will be elected to a one-year term for the school board; two people for two three-year terms on the school board; one person for a three-year term of selectman; and a clerk, treasurer and tax collector for one-year terms.

Only Alton registered voters are allowed to act on the town articles. The registrar of voters will be at the Municipal Building at 9:30 a.m. Saturday to register new voters before the meeting.
