The following local residents received military honors or have returned from duty:

. Army Pvt. Robert P. Parent, son of Donna Parent of Eagle Lake, graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning in Columbus, Ga. He is a 2004 graduate of Fort Kent Community High School.

. Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Nathan E. Robinson, son of Debbie Cunha of Patten and William Robinson of Sherman Station, graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. He is a 2003 graduate of Katahdin High School.

. Air Force Cadet Michael T. Osgood, son of Thomas and Ann Osgood of Easton, has earned honors with placement on the superintendent’s list at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo. Osgood is pursuing a degree in management at the academy. He is a 2004 graduate of Easton High School.

. Air Force Senior Airman Raymond A. Durrell, son of Phillip and Karen Durrell of Calais, has graduated from Airman Leadership School at Langley Air Force Base in Hampton, Va. He is a 1997 graduate of Calais High School.

. Army Spc. Tim D. Banks, son of George and Linda Banks of Patten, has returned to the United States after a nine-month deployment to Chievres Base in Belgium in support of the war on terrorism as part of Operation Enduring Freedom.
