Paul Bridge’s op-ed, “Reducing Maine medical costs” (BDN, March 19-20), is one of the most brilliantly written articles regarding health care costs that I have read to date. If our federal and state legislative and executive bodies and all of the involved bureaucrats would only look at our convoluted health care mess from his common- sense standpoint we could easily move from an out-of-control situation to an affordable health care system.

His op-ed should be required reading for President Bush, all U.S. senators and representatives and all state governors and legislators.

Perhaps the points in his op-ed would spark a reform movement for progressive health care changes within those governing groups. They can learn a lot from his common-sense facts.
